Dalmatian Cooking Class

Shop the morning market, cook in a stone family kitchen, eat what you made under the pergola.

Dalmatian food is simple on purpose — a handful of ingredients, full of the place they come from. This day teaches you that simplicity where it lives: a morning market, a family kitchen in the Konavle countryside, and a long table under the vines.

Market visits and hands-on cooking in a private family setting

Market first

Chapter I

Market first

The day begins among the stalls of the green market, basket in hand, choosing with your hosts what the season offers — tomatoes that smell like tomatoes, fish landed overnight, wild greens the vendors set aside for people they know. What you choose is what you will cook.

Chapter II

The family kitchen

In a stone farmhouse in Konavle, generations of one family cook side by side with you: hand-rolled pasta, peka lowered into the embers, rožata for the patient. Nothing is staged — this is their kitchen, their recipes, their stories. Then the table under the pergola fills, the house wine is poured, and the afternoon disappears.
